Research | Collaboration | Assessment

The following pages were created for a preconference workshop at the 2013 MACUL Conference held in Detroit, Michigan on March 20, 2013 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at Cobo Center. This workshop is being sponsored by the MACUL Special Interest Group for Media Specialists (SIGMS)

Workshop Description:

Better support students and personal use of tablets for research, collaboration, and assessment as you dig into the best apps for each of these tasks. Start by using apps such as Popplet Lite or Inspiration Maps Lite to brainstorm ideas. Use Notability, Dropbox and Evernote apps to save and sync text, images, and voice recordings. Next learn how students can collaborate in real-time using SyncSpace Free whiteboard app or Google Drive for docs. Dig into the amazing web-based assessment tool, Infuse Learning. Demonstrations of lesser known apps such as sling Note, iThoughtsHD, or MagicalPad, and ZotPad will complete the workshop. Many of these apps are available for both iOS and Android tablets, however, this workshop will focus on only the iPad iOS. Participants will receive a list of free or inexpensive apps to preinstall – allowing workshop time to be more productive. An iPad and iTunes account is required for all participants. All participants will receive an iTunes gift card for purchasing apps!
